Did Zoom change their settings? I am no longer able to log onto the same Zoom ID using two devices? Why did Zoom disable the share file function in the chat? I can’t share any files now in live sessions. I can be logged into a computer and a mobile device at the same time, but logging in at a separate computer client does log the first client. However, this does only apply to the client being logged in to your user-account.
It should not prevent you from joining the meeting twice – once from each computer. If your account is part of an organization, any other restriction may be imposed by your administrator. Another option would be to create a free second account in Zoom on a different email – and keep your second client logged in with this user. You would not be able to Host any meetings from there other than free ones but it would enable you to stay logged in and join other meetings, without logging-off your first machine.
You could pass Host from one machine to another, once the meeting is started, if you needed to. When you say you can’t log on to two devices, maybe you mean that you can’t join the same meeting from two different devices? For example, a PC and a smart phone. If so, meeting host may set registration and have banned it.
I have a question relating to this! I have yoga classes on zoom, and while my iPhone films the class I usually use my iPad to let yogis in to the online class so I don’t have to run back and forth. It now seems that I can’t join my own meeting any more. I can’t figure this out! SannaHagman Can you provide more info about what you mean by not being able to join your own meetings?
Is there an error message? What is different? I begin hosting my meeting on my laptop. I use two screens to navigate content and meeting settings. Security : The security feature allows you to secure your meeting in multiple ways. From this button, you can lock the meeting, enable a waiting room, grant participants the ability to share their screen, allow chat sessions in the meeting, allow participants to rename themselves, and remove participants.
Manage Participants : This is where you will invite participants to your meeting while you are hosting it; you will simply click the Manage Participants button and click Invite at the bottom of the pop-out window.
You can also manage the participants that are in the meeting. You can rename them, quick chat, make host, allow them to record you, remove them from the meeting, and ping other users with alerts such as Yes, No, Raise Hand, I Need a Break , and more.
Chat : From here, you can individually chat with one or more people or chat with every participant in the meeting. Share Screen : You can share your screen with viewers so that they can see what is on your screen at the moment. Record : This allows you to record your meeting for later viewing. Breakout Rooms : This feature allows you to either automatically or manually assign participants into smaller rooms. This could be helpful for assigning people to groups for a group project.
You can practice on your own by: Opening a Zoom session on your main computer as host and Entering your Zoom session on another device such as another computer, tablet etc as a student. Two device setup.
There is a unique Join URL. Save or write this down, as you will need it for your second device. Check that you are host. If you are not, then make sure to log into the Zoom app on your computer. Example URL.
