I have asked customer support numerous times on how to change the email address used to create my account and it is proving to be difficult.
I created the account using my work address and am concerned that at some point I will not have acesss to this account. I tried changing it through the profile and my personal email address is in the system but will not allow me to log in.
When I use the reset password, the email not found alert appears. Totally frustrating! This might be a probem – not sure if updating it all over does take time, or if there is an issue. I did that – “This email already exists” – still, the system does not allow me to log in with the changed email.

I see no alternative to changing my account email address and will delete the account and start a new one. We are continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that the best possible service is provided to our customers.

You can make changes to the email addresses or phone numbers aliases that are associated with your Microsoft account. Here are some reasons you might want to make changes:. You want an email address you can give to other companies or other people that can’t be used to sign in to your account or access your info.

The following sections provide the steps that you need to change the email address or phone number for your Microsoft account.
