Resolved my issue. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn’t match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information. Not enough pictures. On some displays there is an input mode setting or label that defines the display connection, regardless of the type of cable connected to the display. After changing the setting, you may need to adjust the settings made in the previous sections. If you are using a receiver or video processor between the PC and the display, you may also need to configure these components.

Note : Refer to your display or equipment’s user guide for more details on how to adjust these settings. When changing the setting, look for the edge of the desktop to line up exactly with, or just inside, the edge of the viewable area of the display. The best computer screens offer high performance to help support you in work or play.

Whether you are looking for an additional screen to boost work productivity or for a high-resolution monitor for gaming, the best computer screens include the features you need. While most monitors feature speakers, some monitors with speakers offer additional watts for extra power, which can be ideal for improved sound quality for gaming or entertainment— looking for a more interactive monitor experience?

Touch screen monitors can be an excellent option for gamers or designers, allowing them to swipe and navigate easily. Monitors with Speakers. Touch Screen Monitors. Computer monitors can range in price, depending on what features you require.

Vertical display is really handy when viewing elongated documents, graphics or web pages. In addition, when used as a standard horizontal screen, a As well as being very useful in areas such as graphics or desk top publishing, this is also bound to come in handy when checking large business or accounting documents. Setting the connected monitor into a vertical position is very convenient when displaying elongated web pages and documents or photographs that were taken vertically. With a Nowadays the trend is for laptops to have an LCD with glare glossy surface treatment.

While these can display images in bright color, reflected ambient light can sometimes be distracting. A laptop screen is not so large and adjusting its angle can avoid the reflection of lights and so on, however it is not so easy with the large screen of an external LCD. When it comes to the large screen of an LCD in habitual use, a non-glare type that is not reflective is probably easier to see, as well as being kinder on the eyes. A large screen, high resolution and non-glare ensure that you can comfortably continue viewing over a prolonged period of time.

The surface treatment of an LCD makes a difference to the background reflection. Glare panels do not diffuse background light, making it easier to achieve high color purity, but easily reflect the user or lights photo on the left.

If the lights are similarly trained on a non-glare panel they do not have much effect, only appearing as a fuzzy brightness photo on the right. They incorporate various power saving features that support “EcoView”. This is the motion sensor on the front of the LCD. It constantly monitors the user’s movements to automatically take finely-tuned power saving measures.

To be more precise, if the user’s presence is not detected for a specified period of time, for example if he leaves his seat, the monitor automatically switches to power save mode, and then automatically switches back when the user’s presence is detected again.

Other features include “Auto EcoView”, which automatically optimizes the brightness of the LCD based on ambient lighting, and “EcoView Index”, which displays a meter on the screen showing how much power is being saved.

All these features can be expected to have a strong energy saving effect and to boost the user’s awareness of power saving, making them particularly useful in the office. A standard laptop computer switches to sleep mode if the built-in LCD is closed while it is running but, if this function is turned off, a laptop can be treated as a “small desktop computer.

The transformation into a small desktop PC is complete if you add a keyboard and mouse connected to the laptop via USB ports, for example.

The OS is still running even though the laptop’s built-in LCD is closed, so you can carry out normal operations using the external keyboard and mouse, and also use the laptop’s built-in optical drives. The idea is to use a large screen, high resolution external LCD at home or in the office, and to use the laptop’s built-in LCD as usual for mobile purposes.

This helps to boost the longevity of the laptop’s built-in LCD and many people do use their laptop in this way. If you feel reluctant to use a dual display environment, where the screen is split in two, why not give this a try? Select “Only show the desktop on 2” from the “Multiple displays” list in the “Screen resolution” menu. In the case of Windows 7, open “Alter power button operation” from the “Power options” list in the Control Panel’s “Hardware and sound”, and alter the “Operation when the cover is closed” to “Do nothing”.

By making this simple setting your laptop can be used as a space saving desktop computer. Another plus is that the laptop’s built-in LCD will last longer. This is only natural since the costs allowed for display quality are completely different for an LCD incorporated into the PC as one of its parts and a specialized LCD. However, by using an EIZO wide-screen LCD a laptop user can still fully enjoy such benefits of a stand-alone high-quality LCD as excellent color reproduction, a wide viewing angle, more even display and a wealth of items that can be adjusted to improve image quality.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. If it’s like what I understood, then the I think that the first solution is what the engineer said: check the display settings, if not working then you maybe don’t have the display driver installed , like Intel , nVedia , AMD or any other driver it depends on the graphics card that you have.

I have the same question. The exact same thing happened to me when I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8. I have a Samsung Series 9 To make your monitor screen wider bigger or smaller: Try these two solutions:.

From Windows 10 – go to “Settings”. Upper right hand corner and click on “Open With Internet Explorer” then. Click on “Zoom” a list of different screen sizes will appear and you can try different screen sizes and pick your size.

Lower left hand corner. Click on the Internet Explorer from there. If you don’t see it there then go to 2 solution Right above this. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Windows Windows 10 Search Community member.

How can I fix this and please answer like you would a 10 year old. I’m tech challenged. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question Running the browser in a window big enough to fit the website, but not too big as to cause the above problems, alleviates these issues. The “maximize” button isn’t going anywhere soon though. Why not? Because some programs genuinely benefit from running in full screen.

While a web browser and word processor should usually be run in a window, something like Microsoft Visual Studio or Adobe Premiere runs better in full screen at least on “medium large” as opposed to “ridiculously large” monitors. This is because of the sheer amount of toolbars, tool windows, tracks, controls, and sections of the window that can be found in such programs.

Notice, in the below screenshot, how much actual “usable area” there is in Firefox versus Visual Studio. Note that the “work area” of both Visual Studio left, running fullscreen and Firefox right, running windowed is equal, as indicated by the shaded portion. It’s your monitor, and thus your choice. But believe me, I went through the same dilemma back in my day, and in the end, I’m glad that I put things in windows now.

It doesn’t hurt to try something new, does it? Once you’ve mastered window management, and now that you’ve seen the productivity wonders that a larger screen can bring, it’s time to move on. Why stick with one screen when you can have two, three, four, six, nine!!! Buying a second monitor or even using your old one in conjunction with the new one will make quite a difference It’s important to run your monitor at its native resolution.

A higher resolution provides better image quality and lets you fit more items on the screen. However, a side effect of this is that everything appears smaller and sometimes hard to read. Every LCD monitor has a fixed number of pixels on the screen, and while it’s tempting to crank down the resolution to make everything bigger, don’t do this.

Since the number of pixels on the physical screen is different from the number of pixels in the input signal coming from the computer, the monitor must “guess” at some of the colors this is known as interpolation , which results in blur. When you run at the native resolution, the physical pixels on screen and the pixels in the input signal from the computer match up exactly, resulting in a perfectly sharp image the way the manufacturer intended. Modern monitors come in one of two “widescreen” aspect ratios: and Older “square” monitors usually made use of a aspect ratio.

Note that the bigger the resulting fraction is, the “wider” the screen becomes. It surprises — and amuses me to no end — when I see a large 22″ monitor not only running at a sub-optimal resolution, but running at a non-widescreen one at that. This produces a blurry and squashed or stretched image, and while you “get used to it” to some extent after staring at it for hours, it’s still quite disconcerting when your slightly-overweight full-body picture appears to have gained 30 pounds.

Newer 22″ monitor on the left, older 15″ monitor on the right. Comments 33 Skip to comment form. Gilles Chenier. Large black margin are unused on both sides of the screen. How can I fix that? Thank you, Gilles. Not helpful at all. I don’t think this author has a strong grasp of the subject. I bought a large monitor to enlarge my browsers. Not to be told that they should stay small and that i should use more of them I basically meant that if you get a large monitor, you shouldn’t make your browser window big and then complain about all of the wasted space around the edges.

If you’re zooming in, or if you’re able to comfortably read long sentences that span across the width of the monitor, there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing that. Nice article! The aspect ratio problem is even bigger on TVs, where people tend to watch programs on TVs, and everything is squashed Almost forgot same screen to :P.

Assi x seems like an awfully small resolution for a 22″ screen. My 22″ screen’s native resolution is x Make sure you’re running the native resolution.

As far as blurry “streams” are concerned It can also be named “fine-tune”; this is NOT the same as setting the time! Or just use the “auto adjust” feature if it’s there. Its like Lins that is fairly easy to see in dark areas of your computer tryd the thing with the adjusst dident help can it be the watt? It’ll cover everything from color to clock to inversion. Hmm have found a strange wierd way of geting rid of em on website by lowering the Contrast to 50 from 60 cuase the Screen have some thing calld Pc mode and pc mode higers the Contrast to See if that solves the problem.

While playing in somekinds of dark and gray areas i have notic that its somehthing with the lightning in darknerr areas thats is the prob cuase we say if i am in a zone with loads of clear collers its notthing but when u chance to a darker area u can see light in the screen like floating in there kinda wierd yes Hey, nice article, understand what you are saying and I think you have a point. Its just that I have one problem.

Not my ”entire” screen is used. Mikael Make sure you’re running at your monitor’s native resolution. Try x, since I haven’t seen that many x screens around.

Can you post the make and model of your monitor? I can look up the exact specs. If so, you need to reduce your screen resolution. This is called “panning mode” and it allows you to have more stuff on the screen without going over your monitor’s limitations. David Anderson. I have a square flat screen monitor that measures 20″ diag so I can stand a bigger one.

I try and stay as close to square as possible – I use AutoCadd and I am afraid to change the ratio. Does anyone use AutoCadd on a wide screen? It’s beautiful. I am still using a 20″ square monitor but it will go out someday. I tried a wide screen monitor with autocad and circles looked like ellipses so obviously I don’t know how to set thr resolution etc. What version of windows are you running? I use Windows XP right now.
